In-flight Connectivity at 35,000 ft from Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines (SIA) launched the US$ 50 million program to connect and entertain passengers while flying 35,000 ft.

The In-flight Connectivity offers internet and mobile services that allows passengers to surf the internet, send and receive emails on smartphones, laptops and other electronic devices, send and receive SMS messages with GSM compatible mobile phones.

Currently 15 aircrafts in the fleet feature In-flight Connectivity including the long haul flights Airbus A340-500. Singapore Airlines intends to provide the connectivity program on all SIA long haul aircrafts (Airbus A380-800, A340-500 and Boeing 777-300ER) within two years time.

Along with the investment on Insight Connectivity, Singapore Airlines’ next big investment focuses on In-flight Entertainment.
