Air Asia Drops Singapore Expansion Plans

The low cost carrier, Air Asia announced to drop expansion plans in Singapore. Initially, the Malaysia based airline showed great interest in setting up and establishing a unit in Singapore. Hence enables a cut-throat competition among Jetstar and Tiger Airways.

The Group Chief Executive, Tony Fernandes provided a statement highlighting the airline’s concentration on big domestic markets and large populations. The statement further comprehended that AirAsia operates in right markets thus capitalise on maximum returns.

At present, AirAsia comprise a fleet of 112 Airbus A320s and maintains subsidiary ventures in Indonesia, Philippines, Japan and Thailand.
