Giza Pyramids Reopen for Tourism

One of the world’s famous landmarks and noteworthy sights is the Pyramids of Giza. After an elongated restoration process, Egypt reopens pyramids and tombs for tourist attractions.

Khafra Pyramids also known as the Pyramid of Chefran is the second largest of the Giza Pyramids. Latest renovations include improved electricity for new lightning and ventilation system and moisture control systems are installed.
Ancient tombstones, which were discovered by the American Egyptologist George Reinser in 1927, will be unveiled to the tourists. These tombs were closed for more than a decade for restoration purposes.

The opening of the pyramids and the unveiling of tombstone for tourists collaborates simultaneously with Egypt’s Tourism Campaign. Thus, a great rebound for the country’s declining tourism due to Arab Spring. Furthermore, the Antiquities Minister Muhammad Ibrahim stated that more archaeological and historic places of interests would be reopened for tourists in the upcoming months.
