British Airways plans expansion in China

The flag carrier of United Kingdom – British Airways (BA) stated to operate its services to more destinations in China. At present, British Airways serves only three destinations in China 0 Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.

China is one of the top tourist destinations in the world offering a wealth of treasures. Be it adventure, sightseeing, history, cuisine and shopping to many more, China is in abundance. Each city destination has something unique to offer for all kinds of travellers from the novice to the avid one.

The drawback that withheld British Airways from growing its services across China was the shortage of slots available at Heathrow mentioned the Chief Executive of BA, Willie Walsh. This has also created a lagging behind other major airlines which multiple Chinese destinations than BA such as KLM operating in nine destinations.

Following the purchase of rival BMI, British Airways has takeover another seven of BMI routes. BMI held over 10% of takeoff and landing slots at the London Heathrow Airport.
