Disneyland Paris has recorded the first case of coronavirus after a staff member tested positive

The theme park stays open despite the recorded case.

Theme park supervisors are investigating employees who may have had contact with the support worker who was confirmed with the deadly bug over the weekend.

A Disney official stated that they had been notified that a cast member who worked backstage and did not have contact with guests had tested positive and is receiving treatment.

He also stated that they have been in regular contact with the local health authorities and will continue to perform preventive measures in line with their recommendations to protect their guests and cast members.

The place is still accessible despite the ban on large crowds of more than 1,000 people across France, according to new rules introduced by the government.

Coronavirus cases have soared past 1,100 across France, leading to a strict ban.

The other theme parks

Three Disney theme parks have closed – Shanghai Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland.

Many of the parks are not expected to open any time again soon, with no date for the two parks in China, and a preliminary date of March 16 for Japan.

Disney World, Florida and Disneyland California will remain open as the officials have taken measures to place more hand sanitisers throughout the parks and resorts.
