Sri Lanka will be launching the first and only scheduled domestic air taxi service by early March 2013.

‘Cinnamon Air’ domestic carrier is owned and operated by Saffron Aviation Private Limited (joint venture between John Kheells Holdings PLC, MMBL Leisure Holdings and Phoenix Ventures Limited).

The fleet of ‘Cinnamon Air’ includes two Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian aircraft (seating capacity for 9 passengers) and one Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft (seating capacity for 12 passengers).

Operating from the Bandaranayke International Airport (BIA), the airline will operate daily to prominent holiday locations island-wide. South West Coast, East Coast, Kandy, Cultural Triangle, Hambantota and Yala are key coastal and inland destinations.
