Future of Airline Check-in from British Airways

British Airways is testing an automatic and time saving process that will ensure traveller’s comfort and convenience. This five pound billion investment plan is a trial and error program initiated by British Airways to reduce the hassle during the last minute.

The new service is an automatic check-in allowing customers to automatically check-in, book the seat and receive the e-boarding pass. Had they chose to change the seating, they have the option to change the seating preference too. The automatic check-in will make certain all of the above 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight.

The airline will be conducting trials on selected traveller and flights operating from France. Invited customers will be offered the opportunity to be checked in automatically.

If the trial and error million-pound investment program proves success, the automatic check-in service incorporates throughout the British Airways network by the end of 2013. During the spring season, the automated check-in service will be tested among larger groups of travellers.
