Statue of Liberty Interior to Reopens to Public

The State of Liberty will open to public on 28 October along with the 126th birthday celebration of the statue.

The statue closed down on 11 September 2011 and underwent renovations for visitor safety. The reopened interiors have an upgraded fire suppression system and two exiting points in the monument. The Liberty Island was accessible and reopened to the public in August 2004 although the monument was closed for public. In 2009, the crown of the statue was opened to the public and in October 2012, the interiors will be welcoming visitors from all over the world.

It offers breathtaking views from the 12-acre island located at the New York Harbour. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France in the year 1886.
