Frequently Asked Questions:

All arrivals into Turkey aged 6 and over, must complete an online form a maximum of 72 hours before travel and have proof of one of the following:

  • A full course of COVID-19 vaccinations (completed at least 14 days prior to arrival in Turkey)
  • Recent recovery from COVID-19
  • A negative PCR test (within 72 hours of arrival)
  • A rapid antigen test (within 48 hours of arrival).

For children aged 11 and under, no PCR test or vaccination certificate is needed.

For visits of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, British nationals who are visiting Turkey for tourist or business purposes do not need a visa.

Unless you already have a residence permit in Turkey, if you intend to stay in Turkey for more than 90 days, you need to get a longer stay visa before you travel or obtain a residence permit from the Turkish authorities before the 90 days have elapsed.

In Turkey, credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. Your credit card provider may block transactions made in another country as a security measure, so please inform them of your travel plans. As you are likely aware, Visa and Mastercard are accepted much more widely than Diners and American Express. There is a possibility that an establishment may charge a steep surcharge for accepting Amex.
