Villarrica (Volcano)

One of Chile's most functional volcanoes, ascending over the lake and town of the similar title, 750 km (470 mi) south of Santiago. With its lava of magma-igneous rock mixture, it's one of a minor amount globally known to have a functional (but in this case irregular) lava lake inside its crater.

El Cani National Reserve

Santuario El Cañi is a spectacular personal nature reserve situated 20 km east of Pucón. The 1,500-acre refuge holds a jungle of one of the Earth's ancient tree types, the Araucaria. You'll also have the opportunity to sight puma, foxes, wild boar, condor, and a range of other birds.

Huerquehue National Park

Situated in the cliffs of the Andes, in the Valdivian mild jungle of the La Araucanía district in southern Chile. It rests 145 km southeast of Temuco and 33 km east of Pucón, amid the Villarrica National Reserve, the park contains 125 square kilometres (12,500 Ha) of hilly land east of Caburgua Lake.

Quelhue Bridge

Quelhue footbridge rests by wayside to Lake Caburgua. The ancient attractive bridge above the Trancura River has only one lane and has been utilised by the natives for years. Currently it is a new bridge, constructed in concrete and presenting two lanes, resting near it.

Caburgua Lake

Situated 23 km northeast of the city of Pucón, in the La Araucanía District of Chile. Huerquehue National Park rests to the east of the lake. The lake holds a glacial dale sculpted out near the Liquiñe-Ofqui Fault. Like Villarrica Lake, it is a portion of Toltén River basin.

Lake Villarrica

Situated around 700 kilometers south of Santiago in Chile’s Lake District in the southeast region of the Province of Cautín. On its east coast you’ll find the city of Pucón, a leading tourist appeal and a famous ski resort. Water sports like sailing, kayaking, sport fishing and water skiing are famous during the summer.

Trancura River

Situated in the La Araucanía Region of Chile, its tributaries discharge the southeastern most part of Villarrica National Park, plus the northwestern hill of Lanín volcano. The river runs originally to the north and from its crossing with its leading headwater, the Maichín River. This river is utilised for rafting by tourist firms in Pucón.
