Mannerheimintie (Mannerheim Street)

The Mannerheimintie Street runs northwest from the Central Railway Station, on the other side of the leading post office. The Central Railway Station, constructed in 1919, is worth a tour as it is the excellent structure by famous architect Eliel Saarinen with a 48-meter-tall clock tower.

Finnish National Museum of Art (Ateneum)

Famous as the Ateneum after the title of the magnificent grandeur structure it inhabits. The same construction also holds the popular Finnish Academy of Art. Drawn by Theodor Höijer and finished in 1887, the Ateneum houses Finland's top art selection of ancient works and also current art in a gallery of its own.

Finnish National Museum (Kansallismuseo)

Established in 1912 in a National Romantic manner, the museum is simple to view when travelling north down the road as it is the only structure on the left hand side with a high steeple. The Kansallismuseo holds a complete selection of matter on the lifestyle and ethnography of Finland.

Finlandia Hall

Central Park (Keskuspuisto)

Linnanmäki Amusement Park

An amusement park, with a water tower, a switchback, and a huge wheel. Together with the adjacent Television Tower, it shapes an impressive sight on Helsinki's horizon. The park opened in 1950 and has repeatedly modernized and upgraded the rides, shows, stores, and restaurants.

Hietaniemi Area

Along the shore, south and east from the chief railway station are the Rowing Stadium from the 1952 Olympics, kayak and canoe rentals, and the stunning sandy beach of Hietaniemi. Nearby are many open meadows normally utilised as soccer parks, various eateries, and a general sauna.

Rock Church

Created by Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen in the late 1960s. The basement inner parts of the church were sculpted out of and constructed straight into the historic hard rock of the Helsinki cape. The interior is soaked in a wonderful pure light that comes passed the glazed vault.

Market Square

The chief planned and surfaced courtyard in central Helsinki. It is one of the famous outdoor fairs in northern Europe.
