Dambulla Cave Temple
Located in the town of Dambulla, these caves create the ideally conserved and largest cave temple compound in Asia. Also famous as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, with cliff constructions elevating up to a height of 150 meters, looking over the encircling pastures. It was committed as a World Heritage Site in 1991.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Holding a religious tooth relic of Buddha, which has been conserved carefully. Its deemed as a major memorial, not only amid the Buddhist citizens of Sri Lanka, but around the world as well. it has also been carved in the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s World Heritage Site.
Elephant Orphanage
This is handled by the Department of National Zoological Gardens and comprises of orphaned and hurt elephants. Nourishing the baby pachyderms with the biggest milk bottle you ever see, is very enjoyable. Another procedure is the elephant bathing in the Mahaweli river.
Kandy Lake

Kandy Lake Club and Cultural Centre
A tour here to view the dances of Sri Lanka is a must. You would be entertained during the hour-long performance by fire dancers, kolam dancers, and other customary and classical dancers. The drumming is brilliant and the plate-spinning illusion would have you cheering. Around a dozen dances are displayed.
Royal Palace
Consisting the National Museum which has artefacts from both the Kandy Dynasty and the British Colonial periods, actually the Temple of the Golden Tooth really is a portion of this compound. The museum also displays the past of the Dutch takeovers and the last agreement with the British.
Temple of the Golden Tooth
The temple dates back to the 16th century and yes, the 1998 assault on the temple did see substantial harm done to the octagon, but restorations have been done. The tooth is accommodated in a chest known as Chedi which is created out of solid gold, it is a world heritage site.
The Royal Botanical Gardens
Situated around five km from the city hub to the west. This is the biggest botanical gardens in the country. More famously titled as Peradeniya and it’s certainly worth a tour, even if you are not too much into cultivation.
National Museum of Kandy
Situated near the Temple of the Tooth in a portion of the earlier Royal Palace of Kandy. The main displays are comprised in the Palle Vahala building, which was the earlier residence of the King's harem. A secondary display is situated in the leading castle structure.
Ceylon Tea Museum
Inhabiting the 1925-vintage Hantane Tea Factory, on the Hantane road. This was deserted for more than a decade, and renovated by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the Planters’ Association of Sri Lanka. There are displays on tea developers James Taylor and Thomas Lipton, and plenty of vintage tea-refining equipment.
