Little Adam’s Peak

A popular hiking destination among tourists, little Adam’s peak is 1141 m high and resembles the sacred Adam’s peak with its pyramid shape. The path to this rock begins through lush green tea plantations and offers breathtakingly panoramic views at its peak. The paddy fields and stunning waterfalls make the climb to this mountain more enjoyable.

Nine Arches Bridge

An iconic bridge in Sri Lanka, the Nine Arches Bridge connects the Ella and Demodara railway stations. Famously known as ‘The Bridge in the Sky’, this Bridge was built during the colonial period and is located 3100 feet above sea level. The bridge displays a stunning sight from each of its arches.

Ravana Falls

A popular sight-seeing attraction, the Ravana Falls is one of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Named after the legendary King Ravana, this waterfall features an oval-shaped concave rock with cascading waters. During the wet season the waterfall resembles an Areca flower with withering petals presenting an amazing sight to visitors.

Demodara Loop

A fascinating civil engineering marvel, the Demodara Loop is a rail track that passes under itself and emerges from a tunnel. Famously known as the spiral loop, the amazing Demodara Loop is 441 feet long and is the only loop in the world with a railway station situated above its tunnel.

Adisham Bungalow

Attracting thousands of foreign and local tourists annually, the Adisham Bungalow is a manor house built in the 1930s. Today this bungalow is a monastery for monks and features fine pieces of furniture and china, a meditation house, beautifully landscaped gardens, orchards and a natural bird sanctuary filled with colorful birds.

Dhowa Cave Temple

A historic landmark of Ella, the Dhowa Cave Temple is believed to be over 2000 years old. Located at the bottom of a hill alongside a water stream, the Dhowa Cave is a mesmerizing sight. The main attraction of this Cave are its beautiful paintings, artistically carved rock walls and 38 ft statue of the Lord Buddha.

Bogoda Wooden Bridge

Considered to be the oldest wooden bridge in the world, the Bogoda Bridge was built in the 16th century. The amazing features of this Bridge are its complete construction with no metal and its 8 feet high tiled roof. The wooden railings of the Bridge on either side showcase the ornamental work of the Kandyan Kingdom.
