Tour Itinerary

The story of your holiday!

  • Welcome to Kerala

Once you've arrived at Cochin International Airport, you'll get a transfer to your hotel in Kochi from one of our representatives. In case you didn't know, Kochi is a city steeped in colonial history. The city is surrounded by the Arabian Sea and has been shaped by foreign heritage, such as the Dutch, Arabs, Chinese, British and Portuguese. However, in recent times, Kochi has developed a cultural identity of its own, making it a must-visit for anyone who wishes to see the best of Kerala.

  • Experiencing Kochi

Start the day bright and early with a hearty breakfast! Afterwards, you'll be going on a half-day tour of the satellite towns in the city (Cochin and Ernakulam) with an English-speaking tour guide. This tour will also include visits to the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, and the Santa Cruz Basilica. Plus, you'll get to see the Chinese fishing nets that dot the harbour as you drive along the coastline. Finally, the tour ends at the nearly 500-year-old Kochi Fort Area and takes you to a traditional Kathakali school, followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.

  • Vivacious Vagamon (4 hours’ drive)

On day three, you'll be going on a 4-hour drive to Vagamon, a captivating hill station situated 1,100 metres above sea level in Kottayam, the Idukki border of Kerala. It is a small and serene town known for its lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, tea gardens, dense pine forest and meandering rivulets. From long calm strolls to adrenaline-pumping activities like trekking & paragliding, there's a lot to do. You'll also go on a Spice Trails Tour from 17:00 to 18:00 with a guide in the evening.

  • Vanilla County Vagamon

Start your day in the serene natural setting of Vanilla County, Vagamon. Located in the picturesque Vagamon Valley in the Western Ghats, it is a 75-year-old Heritage Plantation Bungalow. In addition to being a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is also the ideal escape from everyday life. Your morning will begin with a private visit to the natural rock pool. After which, you will have lunch and head out for a tea factory tour in Vagamon. Soak in the scenic landscape of tea plantations & learn the art of cultivation and brewing tea. Next, you'll visit the Kurisumala monastery, a Christian pilgrim centre set in the heart of the Sahya Mountains. After spending a fruitful day, head back to Vanilla County and rest.

  • Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (2 hours’ drive)

Thekkady is a must-see spot in Kerala for wildlife enthusiasts, which has the popular Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. You can spot lion-tailed macaques, sambars, boars, bison, and many other exotic animals. You'll also get to spend half a day with the elephants here. Check out of the hotel after breakfast and drive to the spice capital. Along the way, you will also explore Thekkady. The afternoon is at your leisure. Feel free to walk through the spice market in Kumily Village. Make sure you leave room in your suitcase for the finest cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and mace!

  • Explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, you can step out for your daily dose of Kerala's wildlife. Amidst dense forests and thrilling mountain walks, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary attracts tourists from all over the world to see its exotic wonders. Experience boating in the lake, where you can spot many more interesting species of animals as you admire the beauty of Thekkady. Afterwards, take a stroll through the Tribal Heritage Museum, which exhibits artefacts displaying Native American culture, dress, rituals, etc., of the Mannan settlement.

  • Thekkady – Alleppey Houseboat (4 Hours’ drive)

A houseboat ride on the tranquil waters of Alleppey is the best way to enjoy the magnificent backwaters of Kerala. With its picturesque exquisiteness, Alleppey is known as the Venice of the East, and once you see it for yourself, you'll know why. A houseboat ride through palm-lined canals, paddy fields and villages will make this an enchanting experience. Embark on a fishing expedition with the locals and savour the traditional Kerala cuisine. Marvel at the Chinese fishing nets, ancient temples, rustic buildings, paddy fields and swaying coconut trees along the coastline. An overnight stay in a houseboat in Kerala completes your Kerala vacation.

  • A Visit to Kovalam (4 hours’ drive)

After breakfast, take a 5-hour drive to Kovalam, a town that offers an endless sight of coconut trees. Kovalam features three spectacular crescent beaches. The most popular and largest beach is Lighthouse Beach, aptly named for its 30-meter lighthouse, which features a stunning site - the Vizhinjam mosque. After exploring the stunning coastal town, you are free to spend the rest of the day doing what you like. Afterwards, you'll get a transfer back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

  • More Memories in Kovalam

On the ninth day of your journey, you get to spend the day at your leisure. You can either go out and explore on your own or catch up on some rest – regardless of what you choose, this day is your chance to get some quality alone.

  • Make the Most of Your Stay in Kovalam

Day ten will be the last day of this holiday, which means, like the day before, you get to do whatever you like at Kosalam's beach resort.

  • Kovalam - Trivandrum Airport & Depart to the UK

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your flight home. Don't forget to take a souvenir with you! It's one of the best ways to preserve your memories from this trip.
