Bulawayo<\/a><\/strong> is the second largest city in Zimbabwe. Long regarded as the industrial center of the country, the city served as the hub of Zimbabwe\u2019s rail network. The city was originally founded in the 1840s by the Ndebele king, Lobengula, who led his people on a long trek from Zululand, which is in South Africa. Bulawayo became a city in 1943. Although recent events have resulted in Bulawayo\u2019s development to come to a standstill and the economy to collapse, the city has retained some of its charm from the past. Major attractions include the Ascot Centre, NRZ building, Bulawayo Centre, the historical Nesbitt Castle, the Fidelity Life Centre, National University of Science and Technology, and the Mhlahlandlela Government Complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
