Since then, it&#8217;s become a global hit, dominating conversations around the world thanks to its addictive storyline and commentary on our competition-obsessed capitalist society. Now, about a month later, a real-life version of the most-watched Netflix series has come to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">On Tuesday, the Korean Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi hosted a real-life <strong>Squid Game<\/strong>. But don&#8217;t worry, the stakes were much, much lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">For instance, if you win, you&#8217;re not going to get to take $38 million home, and at the same time, you won&#8217;t be killed if you get eliminated. Sounds fun, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">The nine-episode series on Netflix tells the story of hundreds of debt-ridden people competing for a cash prize in a deadly series of children&#8217;s games. And four of the games from the show will be played at the event in Abu Dhabi including, &#8220;Red Light, Green Light&#8221;, the &#8220;Dalgona Candy Challenge&#8221;, &#8220;The Marbles Game&#8221;, and the paper-flipping challenge, &#8220;Ddakji Game&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">A total of 30 people played the game, and it was only open to UAE residents. Those who were chosen to play donned t-shirts with the show&#8217;s logo. Staff running the event also stayed true to the theme &amp; wore the imposing pink jumpsuits the show&#8217;s guards wore during the games to re-create the atmosphere of the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Oh, and if you still haven&#8217;t watched <strong>Squid Game<\/strong>, then trust me, peer pressure has got nothing on you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">You should check it out, though! It&#8217;s been deemed one of the best shows of the year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">The show has been ranked number one on Netflix in 90 different countries.
