{"id":31592,"date":"2021-09-02T14:10:44","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T13:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.travelcenter.uk\/?p=31592"},"modified":"2021-09-02T14:51:48","modified_gmt":"2021-09-02T13:51:48","slug":"unvaccinated-brits-allowed-to-have-holidays-in-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/unvaccinated-brits-allowed-to-have-holidays-in-portugal\/","title":{"rendered":"Unvaccinated Brits Allowed to have Holidays in Portugal!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">In light of the recent change in Coronavirus rules, unvaccinated Britons can now go on holidays in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">UK visitors aged 12 and over will only need to show proof of a negative PCR or rapid antigen coronavirus test result to enter the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Before this rule, travellers were required to show that they had been fully vaccinated with an EU-approved COVID-19 vaccine, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna, upon entry to mainland Portugal or they would have to quarantine for 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Covid PCR tests must be taken up to 72 hours before departure, or lateral flow tests up to 48 hours before. People must also complete a passenger locator card before they travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">Travellers planning to have holidays in Portugal and visit one of the below Portuguese islands MUST show either a negative PCR test or a vaccine certificate to avoid a 14-day quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:17px\"><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Azores<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Madeira<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">However, they can have a free test on arrival if they agree to go into &#8220;prophylactic isolation&#8221; &#8211; a 12 to a 24-hour waiting period for the test result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">In the UK, Portugal is on the amber travel list &amp; fully vaccinated people entering from the southern European country do not have to self-isolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">However, a PCR test is needed three days before entering the UK &amp; a PCR test two days after arriving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"heading\" ><strong>Covid Traffic Light: What you should do when you return to England from these countries.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main restrictions:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:17px\"><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>Red list:<\/strong>\u00a0Hotel quarantine for 10 days &amp; pre-departure tests, plus PCR test on days 2 and 8.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>Amber list:<\/strong>\u00a0Home-quarantine for 10 days &amp; pre-departure tests, plus PCR test on days 2 and 8. &#8220;Test to release&#8221; option on day 5.
