Several countries are tightening their grip around protective measures to keep the pandemic at bay. With the almost month-long lockdown in full swing, it seems as if there is only one country left open for Brits to go on a holiday with zero\u00a0travel restrictions.<\/p>\n

Ever thought of\u00a0visiting Gibraltar? If you have, the good news! Gibraltar is the only location in the world with no travel restrictions or\u00a0quarantine rules for Brits.<\/p>\n

One other destination to belong to this list included the Canary Islands. Unfortunately, the tourist magnet of a destination is enforcing newer rules from the 14th of November (Saturday).<\/p>\n

Countries like Cyprus, Maldives, and Greece have also followed suit. Implementing more\u00a0travel restrictions\u00a0to increase barriers to entry for tourists in the hopes that the virus can be contained.<\/p>\n

Other popular destinations, including Portugal and Turkey, are also no longer restriction free, as they both require a two-week quarantine back in the UK.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Therefore,\u00a0visiting Gibraltar\u00a0is not only convenient due to the lack of\u00a0travel restrictions\u00a0and\u00a0quarantine rules, but it also makes for a stellar holiday destination. As of right now, the only procedure you need to go through is to fill in a passenger locator form, which can be swiftly done at the airport. However, the same “zero travel restrictions” policy doesn’t apply to non-UK arrivals visiting Gibraltar.<\/p>\n

To elaborate, if you are a non-UK arrival\u00a0visiting Gibraltar,\u00a0then it will be mandatory for you to self-isolate for five days, with a test on day one & day five.<\/p>\n

However, things do seem to be getting better!<\/p>\n

Regardless of the countless\u00a0travel<\/a><\/strong> restrictions\u00a0and\u00a0quarantine rules,\u00a0there seems to be progress being made.<\/p>\n

According to Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary of the UK – the Taskforce is looking forward to slashing the quarantine to around a week, & although the exact timescale has yet to be announced, this will mean that\u00a0quarantine rules\u00a0in the UK would become less strict.<\/p>\n

The new scheme will see passengers paying for a test after they arrive in the UK, taking it four or five days after arrival, and if it is negative, it removes the need for quarantine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to the Airport Operators Association this morning, Shapps continued saying: “I want you to know that we are making very good progress on a test to release programme to launch, once we’re out of this lockdown.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This will consist of a single test for arrivals into the UK provided by the private sector, and at the cost to the passenger, allowing us a much-reduced period of self-isolation.”<\/p>\n
