{"id":23228,"date":"2020-11-06T12:04:34","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T12:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.travelcenter.uk\/?p=23228"},"modified":"2020-11-06T14:24:25","modified_gmt":"2020-11-06T14:24:25","slug":"germany-denmark-and-sweden-added-to-the-uk-travel-quarantine-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/germany-denmark-and-sweden-added-to-the-uk-travel-quarantine-list\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany, Denmark, and Sweden added to the UK Travel Quarantine List"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">An &#8216;Urgent&#8217; late-night update from the British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps informs that <strong>Germany, Denmark, and Sweden will be on the U.K. travel quarantine list from the 7th of November 2020, 4.00 AM onwards.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministers have made this decision as a measure of managing the risk of imported cases from communities with high stakes of coronavirus transmission.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Shapps also added that the <strong>people arriving at the U.K. on Saturday from 4.00 AM onwards must self-isolate themselves for 14 days.<\/strong> Special notice was given to the <strong>Britons in Denmark to fly home within three hours after the urgent update was made at 1.30 AM for them to avoid the 14 days quarantine that is to be implemented on the 7th of November.<\/strong> However, all arriving passengers must also complete a passenger locator form as a part of the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"heading\" ><strong>Why was this urgent measure taken?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The cause of this measure, however, remains as a decisive action taken by the government considering the significant increase in positive cases of Covid-19 in these countries. Based on the data retrieved from the P.A. news agency by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, it is evident that <strong>Germany\u2019s weekly rate of coronavirus cases are currently at 140, with 20,000 cases reported on Wednesday.<\/strong> Similarly, <strong>Sweden&#8217;s rate remains 190, both against the U.K.&#8217;s case rate of 235 per 100,000 people.<\/strong>\u00a0The rate of confirmed coronavirus cases in Denmark, on the other hand, also shows a sudden hike this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"heading\" ><strong>What if I am already in one of these countries on holiday?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Although the Department of Transport (DfT) has introduced <strong>tight restrictions on Britons, prohibiting travel for holidays,<\/strong> advise those <strong>currently on holidays to finish their trip as usual,<\/strong> following the local restrictions laid out by the FCDO [Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office] travel advice pages on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/?fr=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"color:#9b51e0\" class=\"tadv-color\">gov.uk<\/span><\/a><\/strong> for further information.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.travelcenter.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-1024x536.jpg\" alt=\"TRAVEL QUARANTINE LIST\" class=\"wp-image-23231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-960x502.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-764x400.jpg 764w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2-585x306.jpg 585w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"heading\" ><strong>Will the U.K. quarantine list be revised again?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">According to Shapps, there are no countries from the U.K. travel quarantine list removed this week. Additionally, the government also restrains all non-essential travel, both domestic and international.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Although November-December is a period usually considered as the best time to visit Germany, Denmark, or Sweden, the U.K.&#8217; Travel corridors&#8217; policy does not recommend it this year.
