The hurricane <strong>came from south Florida&#8217;s city of Puerto Cabezas,<\/strong> on the Nicaraguan north-eastern coast, with a storm surge and disastrous winds happening across parts of Central America, said the officials of the National Hurricane Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color\">The storm had sustained maximum winds nearing <strong>140 mph at landfall.<\/strong> However, by Tuesday night, its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2020\/11\/03\/weather\/hurricane-eta-tuesday\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"color:#9b51e0\" class=\"tadv-color\">storm<\/span><\/a><\/strong> had decreased to a Category <strong>2 storm with winds hauling up to 105 mph.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color\">Massive destruction took place as the storm took down trees, power lines and destroyed the roofs of houses, and is causing flooding in one of Nicaragua&#8217;s poorest regions, Puerto Cabezas. According to Reuters, Puerto Cabezas resident Carmen Enriquez said that that they are in fear as there are fallen poles, there&#8217;s flooding, and roofs were torn off. Also, a local priest said, &#8220;the city was without power, and government shelters were at capacity.&#8221; Reuters also reported that heavy rain caused by <span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Hurricane Eta<\/span> brought on the Humuya River to overflow, as the cities and towns began to flood and landslides covered roads in Honduras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.travelcenter.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-1024x536.jpg\" alt=\"Hurricane Eta\" class=\"wp-image-23188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-960x502.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-764x400.jpg 764w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta-585x306.jpg 585w, https:\/\/www.travelcenter.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Hurricane-Eta.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color\">National Hurricane Center updated that a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/weather\/hurricane-eta-explodes-150-mph-category-4-tying-laura-2020-n1245958\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"color:#9b51e0\" class=\"tadv-color\">hurricane warning<\/span><\/a><\/strong> was in effect for a<strong> stretch of 150-miles of Nicaraguan coastline<\/strong>, starting from the border of the south of the Nicaraguan border to east-central Nicaragua&#8217;s Caribbean coast of the Sandy Bay Sirpi.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color\">The storm could deliver bizarre conditions in Nicaragua and other Central American countries for days, that includes <strong>more than 3 feet of rain in remote areas of Nicaragua and Honduras<\/strong> within the course of this week, the National Hurricane Center stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-black-color has-text-color\">Although Hurricane Eta is supposed to weaken further, it&#8217;s expected that <strong>rainfall will continue for the next few days.<\/strong> The current updates on Hurricane Eta state that the storm is changing course towards the mountains of Nicaragua and Honduras before it heads north toward Belize as a depression by Friday. The definite path and strength of the storm continue to be uncertain. The NHC said <span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Hurricane Eta<\/span> is expected to pass over the Caribbean later this week.
