It affected over 58 million overseas <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.travelcenter.uk\/brexit-what-does-it-mean-for-all-the-travellers-and-their-holidays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"trips of holidaymaker (opens in a new tab)\"><strong><span style=\"color:#0693e3\" class=\"tadv-color\">trips of holidaymaker<\/span><\/strong><\/a>s and business travellers to the EU each year from the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-justify\">The Withdrawal Agreement ratified the UK departure from the EU by all remain the same and continue to travel without changes. However, the transition period, known as the implementation period, convinced the travel convenience of UK travellers.\u00a0 Head of public affairs Luke Petherbridge said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">\u201cThe UK has now entered a period of transition until at least the end of December 2020, while the UK and EU negotiate a future relationship. During this time nothing will change for travellers or travel businesses.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color\">He continued,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">\u201cThe risk of no-deal may have subsided for now, but there is much work to be done to help shape the UK\u2019s future relationship with the EU to protect our industry and ensure the public can continue to holiday and travel with the same rights and freedoms as they have today. Throughout the process, ABTA has provided advice and guidance to customers and members on Brexit and will continue to do so.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>FACTS TO KNOW<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>The immigration and airport operations<\/strong>\u00a0will stay the same until December 2020.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>Ferries and Cruise ships\u00a0<\/strong>will still sail under international rules and regulations.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Visas are not required, and\u00a0<strong>Visa-Free travels<\/strong>\u00a0to the EU after<strong> <\/strong>the Brexit.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">ABTA advises travellers to\u00a0<strong>consult a travel provider<\/strong>\u00a0for safety assurance and insurance coverage because it will allow having appropriate travel insurance which covers specific needs.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Six months of validity is not required to travel by a\u00a0valid <strong>passport.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)<\/strong>\u00a0provides state medical care for EU citizens when travelling in the EU.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">The\u00a0<strong>EHIC card<\/strong>\u00a0provides medical care for British nationals during the year 2020.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Currently, the\u00a0<strong>UK drivers\u2019 licence<\/strong>\u00a0is valid in the EU, and an international driving permit is not required.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">The GB sticker or Green Card will not require to get\u00a0<strong>car insurance.<\/strong><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\">The laws and regulations for taking<strong>\u00a0pets<\/strong>\u00a0abroad will remain the same.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"tadv-color\"><strong>Data roaming\u00a0services<\/strong> will continue to remain the same after 31st January 2020.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-justify\">The travel association is actively concerned with the priorities of the\nindustry to the UK government and EU member states regarding trade discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-justify\">Priorities of the industry include an air service agreement to protect\nflights, replacing the mobility benefits of the EU Posted Workers Directive,\nand maintaining a mutual healthcare agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-justify\">Furthermore, the UK is planning to proceed open discussions with third\ncountries such as Switzerland regarding access for occasional coach services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color\"><em><strong>Source:<\/strong> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"www.abta.com (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.abta.com\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color:#0693e3\" class=\"tadv-color\">www.abta.com<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Followed by the Brexit date of 31st January 2020, some specific changes occurred in the British and EU travel system.
